4. What is the difference between ‘Crespine Gel’ and ‘Crespine Gel +’?

Both products are medical devices ‘Classification III’. Both are intended as a single injection into the affected joint, and manifest their effectivity via the special structure of the inherent hyaluronic acid.

‘Crespine Gel +’ contains a local anesthetic substance in addition to the inherent hyaluronic acid to make the injection more pleasant.

5. How frequently should Crespine Gel be injected?

The ‘Crespine Gel’ products are intended as single one-off injections. This means, that the patient only requires one treatment at a time.

The duration of the benefit of a single injection of Crespine Gel lasts for 6 months in most cases. Thereafter, a repeated treatment should be applied, or as soon as the joint-pain again becomes apparent.

Crespine Gel is not a cure for the condition but can slow down the progression and relieve the symptoms significantly, and thus delay any impending joint replacement operation for some further time.

Repeated treatments should be administered at regular intervals to obtain a durable painless effect.

6. What is so special about Crespine Gel?

The inherent hyaluronic acid in the Crespine Gel injection is particularly beneficial because of its special manufacturing process, as it is stable against bodily degeneration and provides a pain-relieving effect. In addition, the 100% German-made highly pure organic fermentation of the hyaluronic acid is particularly efficient, and is not of animal origin and thus especially tolerable for the human body systems.

The additive ‘prilocain’ to the hyaluronic acid content backs up the effect of the medical product by reducing discomfort during administration.

7. What joints are suitable for a Crespine Gel injection?

The officially certified application areas for Crespine Gel are the knee- and hip -joints.

Treatments may only be administered by qualified medical specialis (e.g. orthopedic surgeons, sports physicians, etc.).

8. Is one syringe sufficient for one joint?

A pack of Crespine Gel contains 2 ml of cross-linked hyaluronic acid. This volume has been shown to be sufficient for the treatment of one joint.
Because the Crespine Gel products are designed as single injection, only one application is necessary for a treatment cycle. This means that one pack of Crespine Gel is in most cases for the treatment of one joint and for providing joint-pain relief for 6 months, depending on the severity of the osteoarthritis.

The cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid in Crespine Gel renders the product stable against the natural degradation processes of the human body. This lends support to the duration of the joint-pain reducing effects. Only one injection per treatment cycle of Crespine Gel keeps the risk of an infection very low.

9. What patients are suited to an application of Crespine Gel?

The most beneficial effects are experienced by patients with slight or medium conditions of osteoarthritis, but even patients with a higher dgree of degeneration of the joint tissue are reported to have obtain joint-pain relief from the application of Crespine Gel.

Some patients have been putting off impending surgery and report experiencing recuperative sleep as a result of the reduction of joint-pain during passive rest.
